Final 2

This is a picture I took in cloud party that shows size difference in objects that are located at different distances. In this photo there are two chairs that are exactly the same size and shape. However, the chair that is closer to the camera seems bigger than the chair that is further away from the camera. In reality the chairs have no size difference at all.

This is a photo that I took in cloud party that shows occlusion. There is a chair in front of a box and the chair seems closer to the camera. This shows that the chair is closer to the camera than the box is so it puts some perspective and depth to the two objects.

This is a photo I took in cloud party that shows different lighting and shading on the rocks. The part of the rock that protrudes is a lighter shade of grey than the part of the rock the is concave. The concave shaded part is darker because it is not receiving as much light.

This is a photo I took in cloud party that shows texture density in the tile wall that is behind my avatar. Texture density occurs when something like the tiles closer to the camera can be more easily seen as separate tiles than the tiles that are further away from the camera. The tiles further away seem like that are less separate from one another.

This is a photo I took in cloud party that is an example of linear perspective. Linear perspective is when something that is further away seems narrowing. I created two separate lines of blocks to show this. A good example of this is a railroad track.

This is a photo I took in cloud party that is an example of atmospheric perspective. The chair I circled is much clearer than the bed I circled in the distance. This happens because objects closer to the camera can be see less blurry than objects further away.

These are six screenshots that I took in cloud party of the six monocular depth cues. These are all examples of the different cues. It is a final exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. Game board

WebGL homework

WebGL uses the Java Script application that is made for rendering 2D and 3D graphics. WebGL does not require additional plug ins which makes it very useful.  A good example of this is the program Cloud Party, which is an online virtual world.

Final 4

This is the avatar of myself that I created using Make Human. I started off with a unisex person that I changed into a girl by adding female features. I also dressed my avatar in a yellow dress and gave her long hair. It is a final exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc

Blurred Photo                                               Original Photo

These are two photos of me but the picture on the left has been altered using GIMP tools such as smudge and blur. I eliminated the dark circles under my eyes and some blemishes on my face.  It is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc

This is a screenshot of a photo I created using Microsoft Word. It is a photo of a red brick house with green grass and the sun. I put a little girl playing in her yard near a purple flower. There is also a granite walkway leading up too the house. It is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc
